I needed my blog to ping/trackback, but in order to do that I needed a function that would discover the correct pingback url for me ...
I stumbled uppon:

And I altered the findXmlRpc function a bit ..
What it does is that it will read the headers send and try to get the x-pingback or pingback header. If that fails it will try a regexp to find a link such as: | Code: | | link rel="pingback" href="http://blog.yoursite.com/xmlrpc.php" |
This method has proven itself to many blogs including wordpress based websites!
