Allright since ubuntu does not have drivers for the dell 1100 I used google to find new drivers.

I stumbled uppon this page:
http://devnulled.com/content/2007/06/in...ntu-linux/

Which surely claims:

In Linux (I use Ubuntu but this should work for any other distribution), when adding the Dell 1100 printer, select the Samsung ML-1020 printer driver. That’s all you need to do, and it should now work for you.

I can agee on the abovesaid, Just select a Samsung ML-1200 and you're ready to go !
Even if the printer is shared on a windows machine in your LAN Smile

Update: downloading the OS Ubuntu driver on http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/...~ck=anavml will also do the trick.

Use sudo bash intall.sh and follow the instructions.
Works on 14.04 !

If you are using the network print option, you will have to remove the added Dell printer and re-add the printer using network find printers.
